Vehicle Basics
Some of the most popular vehicles on Turo have unique features like keyless entry, supercharging, or removable sunroofs. Reusable video was a hackathon project that pitched 60-second videos to increase guest conversion and save hosts from re-explaining how to operate these features on every trip.
The reusable video project successfully won the 2020 Turo hackathon and became a potential MVP for Turo’s most popular vehicles. Additional outcomes included:
Honorable mentions throughout the company
Renewed examination of trip experience pain points for guests and hosts
Inspiration for other Turo employees to pursue projects outside of software development as a means to solve user experience challenges
